Reflexson shimmering chill Reflexson – It’s Broken EP review and critique

Reflexson shimmering chill Reflexson – IT’S BROKEN:  I’m always on the lookout for talent that can bring something “different” to our ears, and this great composer from Houston, Texas is a perfect example of how a solid knowledge of music and strong grounding in the more technical side of things can do that… just listen to the 3:51 “Disconnected“, and you’ll catch the shimmering chill vibe Reflexson brings to life for your aural enjoyment… I just loved the vocal snippets woven into this piece.

The guitar overlays on the 4:55 opener, “Shattered“, are a perfect contrast to the underlying “slinky” beats, and the song will easily engage your brain matter in a fashion not unlike that which you might experience with some of that fancy “blue micro-dot” stuff that used to float around during the ’60’s concerts… seriously, though, this is a totally engaging composition… the only videos I could find of this artist were audio only… that would be my suggestion for the next EP… some visuals, and perhaps some live in-studio shots, would be just superb on a piece like this…

My personal favorite of the five tracks offered up, though, is the 4:05 closer, “Frame Break“… Reflexson included some masterful vocal snips in among the symphony-like chill session on this song that make it stay in your head.  I give this one a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, especially for listeners who like to “float” with the music; “EQ” (energy quotient) rating is 4.98.  Get more information on Reflexson’s Facebook page.            Rotcod Zzaj
