Lively, magical Brazilian music Benji Kaplan and Rita Figueiredo – Benji & Rita

Lively, magical Brazilian music Benji Kaplan and Rita Figueiredo – BENJI & RITA:  I can tell you right now that this isn’t your “typical” Brazilian music CD… on their debut together, vocalist and composer Rita is joined by guitarist/composer Benji in one of the most lively and magical sessions I’ve heard (yet) in 2019.  To get an intimate view of the making of this album, watch their specially-made video…

…you’ll find the complete player list on that page, too (too long to itemize here)… be sure to SUBSCRIBE to Benji & Rita’s YouTube channel, too, where you’ll find many more lively performances.

Tunes like the 3:38 “Memorial Day” will hold you spellbound… the horn work on this one is just superb, as are Rita’s enchanting vocals; I can easily see this getting some MAJOR airplay on stations around the globe!

You’ll actually feel like you’re visiting Brazil as you listen to the magical opener, “Sao Francisco e brasileiro“… the arrangements give you plenty of instrumentation before Rita takes flight over the top with her sweet vocal stories… priceless.

What really stands out in the performances is the imagery that’s conveyed to the listener… my personal favorite of the fourteen songs offered up for your enchantment is (without question) one of the shorter pieces… the 2:09 “Swing do jazz” uses a short guitar intro to Rita’s vocal… full of sweet jazz pictures for the devoted listener, it’s one of the best guitar/vocal duo pieces I’ve listened to (yet) in 2019.

I give Benji, Rita and all their players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.98.  Get more information on Benji & Rita’s website.            Rotcod Zzaj
