Wonderfully exciting jazz vocal discoveries Lucia Jackson – You And The Night And The Music

Wonderfully exciting jazz vocal discoveries Lucia Jackson – YOU AND THE NIGHT AND THE MUSIC:  Lucia’s stunning vocal work is well complimented by her players on this upcoming (September, 2018) release… she’s joined by Ron Jackson-7 String Electric Arch Top Guitar-7 String Acoustic Classical Nylon String Guitar- Steel 7 String Guitar, Yago Vazquez-Piano, Matt Clohesy, Double Bass, Corey Rawls-Drums. Special Guests Daniel Garcia, Flamenco Classical Guitar, Samuel Torres-Cajón/Congas/Percussion, Javier Sanchez-Bandoneón, Frederika Krier-Violin, Yaacov Mayman-Tenor Saxophone… each and every one of the players gives up a “whole soul” effort in support of Ms. Jackson’s tasty vocal work!  The best way for you to learn how talented she is can be viewed in her album trailer below…

…just look at how comfortable she is in the jazz environment, and you’ll realize this is a star you’ll be seeing and hearing more and more of over the coming months and years!

There are a lot of standards on the album, but the album also features “Feel The Love“, a 4:01 original she wrote… it just bubbles with life… the recording quality is top-of-the-line, and will be a big hit with jazz vocal fans ’round the globe!

The upbeat performance on “No Regrets” is most assuredly one of my favorite jazz vocal performances (yet) in 2018, and Ron’s guitar (he’s her dad, by the way) work is just amazing on this tune.

This all started with an Indiegogo project (which I was a proud contributor to), and it quickly became apparent that she already had enough fans to meet the goals… I’ve no doubt that performances like my personal favorite on the album, Ellington’s “Sophisticated Lady”, generated a lot of the excitement for her rich and soulful singing!

I give Lucia and her players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) rating of a (perfect) 5.00 – meaning that she also gets my “PICK” for “best new jazz vocal debut”.  Get more information at Lucia’s website.
