Wonderfully creative vocal and piano jazz Mon David & Josh Nelson – DNA/David-Nelson Agreement

Wonderfully creative vocal and piano jazz Mon David & Josh Nelson – DNA/DAVID-NELSON AGREEMENT:  I’ve reviewed both of these wonderfully creative talents before, of course… Mon David’s vocals and Josh Nelson’s piano work will thrill true jazz listeners & fans everywhere… you won’t find samples yet, as the album doesn’t release until August 7th, 2020.

You can get a bit of information about Mon’s upcoming release, but (like I said), no samples yet… I can tell you (without qualification) that the duo’s performance on Billy Strayhorn’s “Lush Life” is totally unique… Mon’s vocal leads, of course, but Josh’s keyboard is intricately supportive in a way DJ’s are gonna’ just LOVE!

I’ve heard 100’s (if not 1000’s) of performances of John Lennon’s “Imagine”, but none are as powerful and fulfilling as what Mon & Josh create for you on their rendition… the pacing is just PERFECT, and you’ll feel like these two are right there in your living room, singing this for your personally.

Mon’s vocal scat intro to “Devil May Care” is absolutely superb, and sets up one of the most rhythm-infused jazz experiences you’ll hear in 2020… these two players were just MADE for each other!

My personal favorite of the dozen tunes offered up was (hands-down) the mighty mellow “Here’s To Life”… it certainly brings back many memories of life well-lived.

I give Mon and Josh a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.98 for this fine release.  Get more information and do your pre-order on Josh’s website.                                     Rotcod Zzaj
