Ultra sensitive piano seasonal joy Gary Schmidt – Christmas Meditations

Ultra sensitive piano seasonal joy Gary Schmidt – CHRISTMAS MEDITATIONS:  Well, it may seem a bit early for listening to holiday songs, but having reviewed a lot of Gary’s wonderful piano, I can tell you that his ultra sensitive piano is good in any season.  Before I move forward, though, be sure you watch his video for the opening track, “Carol of the Bells” (samples will be available on 13 November, 2020, the official release date)…

…you should definitely SUBSCRIBE to Gary’s YouTube channel if deeply moving piano is what makes your day; I did.

As you listen to Gary’s performance of “It’s the Most Wonderful Time”, many memories of the pleasure of gathering together with family and friends will come rushing into your mind… Gary’s keyboard resonates with deep left-hand notes, as well as high-end overtones that are simple, yet stunning… DJ’s (of all stripes) will definitely be adding this track to their holiday playlists!

One of my favorite carols while growing up (in a church parsonage, by the way) was “Silent Night”, and Gary’s intimate touch makes his performance of the tune come alive for you – I was particularly impressed with this song, and will have it playing frequently as the season approaches.

Gary uses the lower registers of his keyboard to enhance the feeling of percussion on his rendition of “Little Drummer Boy”… if any holiday song should be considered for an award, it should be this tune… it definitely stirred old emotions for me!

Of the fourteen sweet songs offered up for our seasonal enjoyment, my choice for personal favorite was very easy to make… though written in the 17th Century, “I Saw Three Ships” still brings inspiring visions of brilliantly shimmering cathedrals to your mind… Gary’s treatment and arrangement make it a vibrant listening experience.

I give Gary a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.98 for this splendid holiday album.  Get more information on Gary’s website.                                          Rotcod Zzaj
