Timeless musical friendships Steve Million – What I Meant To Say

Timeless musical friendships Steve Million – WHAT I MEANT TO SAY:  When I reviewed jazz pianist Steve’s “Jazz Words“, knew we would be hearing much more from him and his players… his new album highlights the timeless musical friendships that develop from playing together… you can view/listen to the entire album here…

You’ll also be able to enjoy several other albums and performances from Steve when you SUBSCRIBE to the Steve Million topic channel on YouTube.

I have no doubt that you will find the players just as intriguing as I did… Steve Million – piano; Steve Cardenas – guitar; John Sims – bass and Ron Vincent – drums; it’s clear from songs like the 4:40 “Azusa Dreams” that they love playing together… DJ’s will be airing this song often, I predict!

There are some deeper and darker tones on “The Company” that held me absolutely spellbound, and you’ll find the same images in this well-crafted tune, too.

I couldn’t help the images of Thailand that flew into my mind as I listened to the superb tones on the closer, “Blue Lizard“… it certainly reminded me of the lizard’s tail soup I ate at one of my worker’s homes while I was there, lol!

There was no difficulty (at all) in making my choice for personal favorite of the ten tantalizing tunes Steve has offered up for our jazz journey… “Missing Page” exhibits exquisite pacing and an ability to “fill the empty spaces” in between notes… one of the best songs I’ve listened to (yet) in 2022.  Get more information on Steve’s website.                      Rotcod Zzaj
