sweet piano-led jazz quintet Ben Markley – Tell The Truth

sweet piano-led jazz quintet Ben Markley – TELL THE TRUTH:  We reviewed Ben’s superb jazz piano on “Closing Time“, where he got high marks, to be sure.  His new release (due out 28 February, 2025) features him with a sweet piano-led jazz quintet.  You can get a preview of it below…

Be sure to SUBSCRIBE to Ben’s YouTube channel, where you’ll find many enjoyable videos/performances.

You’ll totally fall in love with the 5:18 “Spencer’s Mood“, as you listen to each of the players (Ben Markley, piano; Steve Kovalcheck, guitar; Wil Swindler, alto saxophone, Rodney Whitaker, bass and Kyle Swan, drums) show their uncanny creativity!

A total of seven superbly crafted tunes will give you one of those “wonderful jazz days“, as you listen to them over and over again… it was easy to make my choice for personal favorite on this one, to be sure… the 7:16 “Snowy Range Blues“… Rodney’s bass is featured on this track, and will hold you enchanted through the entire jazz adventure… I absolutely LOVED this tune, and have no doubt that you will, too.

I give Ben and all his players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, as well as an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99… you can get more information on the album page at Origin records; I imagine you’ll soon see this album appear on Ben’s Spotify channel as it gets closer to the release date, too…
