Super swinging soulful jazz debut Constantine Alexander – Firetet

Super swinging soulful jazz debut Constantine Alexander – FIRETET:  Sakes alive, children… it just doesn’t get any better than this super swinging soulful jazz debut that trumpeter Constantine offers up for our ears.  To get a taste for his innovative and delectable styles, I strongly recommend that you watch this (much earlier) performance by the group (all members from the release are on this video, along with some additional players)…

I didn’t find a separate channel for Constantine on YouTube, but you’ll find his performances, as well as many other exciting artists when you SUBSCRIBE to the Fulton Street Collective channel.

This debut release for Firetet is jam-packed with tantalizing tunes in tribute to Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers and trumpet king Clifford Brown… of the seven superb tunes offered up, it was (without question) the 7:22 “Fire” that appealed to me the most strongly… full of the passion that living life to the fullest brings!

In addition to Constantine’s trumpet/flugelhorn, you’ll also hear Roy McGrath doing tenor saxophone, Julius Tucker on piano, Greg Essig’s drums and Ben Dillinger on acoustic bass… the album doesn’t officially release until 18 October, 2023, but you can pre-order it on the Bandcamp page for the album below… this set of performances gets a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99.
