stunning forward looking jazz Russell Haight – Go Forth

stunning forward looking jazz Russell Haight – GO FORTH:  This is our first listen to saxophonist Russell’s stunning forward looking jazz – and I guarantee you, it won’t be our last.  Check out the 5:33 opening track to get a feel for what Russell and his fantastic crew can do…

Be sure and SUBSCRIBE to Russell’s YouTube channel, too, so you can watch and enjoy many more stimulating jazz performances.  I signed up for it immediately after listening to the above tune.

If high-energy is what you love in your jazz, you’ll definitely find the 4:20 “Mystic Bud” to your liking… Russell’s sax is totally “on”, and you’ll also hear his high-talent and high-energy bandmates, pianist Sean Giddings, bassist Ryan Hagler, and drummer Daniel Dufour.  No question that you’re going to love this rollicking tune as much as I did!

I only had to listen through the album once to find my personal favorite of the eleven exciting songs offered up… “Scooch”, a 5:23 gem, had me tappin’ toes & snappin’ my fingers right along to the get-down funk that Russell and his players create for us.  A superb jazz and funk journey that will stand the test of time.

You won’t find superb jazz like this often, so be sure to get this excellent 16 July, 2024 release as soon as it comes out… it comes MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED from me, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99.
