Spirited sensual holiday jazz Simone Kopmajer – Christmas

Spirited sensual holiday jazz Simone Kopmajer – CHRISTMAS:  Simone got very high marks when I reviewed her “Spotlight On Jazz” album a couple years back… on her new release, she’s created spirited and sensual holiday jazz that listeners everywhere will be able to enjoy.  Before I move on to the songs, I suggest that you watch her duo performance with Viktor Gernot first…

…if you enjoyed that (& since you’re there already), be sure you SUBSCRIBE to her YouTube channel, too; she has a LOT more work there for you to enjoy.

Simone’s seasonal album features John di Martino, Terry Myers (leader of the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra ) and Aaron Heick (Paul Simon, Chaka Khan, Barbara Streisand,…) and wonderful jazz & folk musicians from Austria plus Allan Harris, Ina Regen, Viktor Gernot and many more… I was totally impressed by their performances on “Leise rieselt der Schnee” (Let It Snow)… the piano/organ duet on this song is amazing, and DJ’s everywhere will be choosing this tune for their playlists during the holidays often!

I can guarantee you that you’ve never heard a more unique version of the 4:44 closer, “Stille Nacht – Silent Night“, than Simone and her players have put together for you.. the intertwining of languages on the vocals is just superb.

Old jazzheads like me are always lookin’ for the “hip” in the season, and on my choice for personal favorite of the sixteen sweet songs Simone offers up, “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas“, you get the hippest tune of the year!

I give Simone and all her players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.98.  Get more information on Simone’s website.          Rotcod Zzaj
