Spirit healing musical beauty Kenneth Hooper – Directions

Spirit healing musical beauty Kenneth Hooper – DIRECTIONS:  Our crisis-filled times definitely need the spirit healing musical beauty that Kenneth Hooper provides on his wonderful new double album… to get an intimate an detailed view of this release directly from Kenneth himself, I (most STRONGLY) suggest that you view the following video…

…you’ll find many more great videos when you SUBSCRIBE to Gian Berselli’s Astral Wolf Records channel on YouTube… I did, because I know we will be seeing and hearing much more from him.

One of the most pleasant and inspiring flute experiences I have ever had is the gently persuasive “All Who Wander“, on which Kenneth plays a Chinese Xiao Flute… I spent many years in Asia (15, to be precise), as well as three years working with Native American tribal libraries in Washington state, and can tell you that there are few players who play these flutes with the powerful and passionate skill that Kenneth does!  I believe that this song will be nominated for (and WIN) awards in several categories!

A tune that DJ’s will find most attractive is the 4:44 “Graceful Expanse“, on the second CD of the 2-CD set… there is absolutely no “rush to judgement” in the playing of this, and you will find yourself in a complete state of calm as you listen to it over and over again.

The intricate weave of guitar, flute, keyboards and percussion on the high-energy “Trailblazers” brings strong feelings of adventure and exploration, as the song title implies… it’s easy to drift into a fantasy of Great Northwest woods, mountaintops, rivers, streams and discoveries as I listen to this very powerful performance!

All of Kenneth’s compositions on this release are full of rich tones and deeply moving arrangements, but after my third listen through all the songs, it was clear to me that my choice for personal favorite of the nine (long) creations offered up for your meditation and healing is the 9:20 “Springtime Dreaming“… perfect “pacing” that clearly expresses “the power in gentleness and beauty” (Kenneth’s own words) that makes this album such a rewarding listen.

I give Kenneth and his players (Kenneth Hooper: Flutes, Drums, Rav Drums, Vocals and Ibo Drum, a hybrid of the Udu Drum; Gian Berselli: Acoustic Guitars, Bass, Vocals, and Keys and Chelsea Kirby: Vocals) a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99 for his high energy and skill.  Get more information on Kenneth’s website.
