I can’t think of a better combination than enjoying the very best of Los Angeles’ Live Music while enjoying authentic Southern Italian food. The combo is on the menu this week at Jazz Tuesday at La Puglia, featuring none other than our good friend, Shea Welsh and The Shea Welsh Blues Experience.
Born from a lifelong devotion to the blues, The Shea Welsh Blues Experience delivers raw energy and deep soul. Fronted by Shea’s scorching guitar style and featuring longtime collaborator, vocalist Sheila Ford, the band channels the electrifying spirit of Buddy Guy with the commanding power of Koko Taylor. The full lineup includes:
Shea Welsh – guitar/vocals
Sheila Ford – vocals
Hans Zermuehlen – piano
Peter Buck – drums
Michael Saucier – bass
Shea Welsh is a multi-talented artist and band leader, an East Coast-raised L.A. treasure whose talent defies limitation. He is a musician’s musician who has played with many of the best, always playing live, and collaborating across genres.
Jazz Tuesday at La Puglia is every Tuesday from 7 to 9pm. If true to their name, the food will include the region’s penchant for delicious seafood, orecchiette, burrata, bread and robust wines. There is no cover fee, but a minimum of $50 p.p. food & beverage, and I’m sure it will be well worth it! La Puglia, 1621 Wilshire Blvd. Santa Monica, CA; phone: (424) 229-5902
