Refreshing multi talented jazz vocalist Deb Bowman – Fast Heart

Refreshing multi talented jazz vocalist Deb Bowman – FAST HEART:  Deb will (easily) capture your heart in only the first few bars of her new August, 2019 release… though she doesn’t have any “live” cuts from this new release, you should still SUBSCRIBE to her YouTube channel to see her many videos.

You’ll have to trust my ears until the album goes “hot” in early-to-mid August, but I’ll tell you right now that tunes like the 8:04 “Butterfly” are just what the jazz doctor ordered for your aural adventures… the keyboards are just fantastic, & the recording is pure perfection… the length of the tune allows each of the players to soar to new heights, and Deb’s vocal is totally captivating!

Ms. Bowman isn’t just a singer, either… she’s an accomplished actor, composer and cabaret artist as well… this is my first listen, and I’ve no doubt you’ll be hearing much, MUCH more from her in the coming months/years.  Her soulful rendition of “Georgia On My Mind” will make you a believer in all those talents, & the organ on this one is just KILLER… there’s no question that this track will be getting some MAJOR airplay on jazz stations ’round the globe.

Deb’s album is about her sister Patti, who passed on due to ovarian cancer; in particular, the title track, “Fast Heart”, is her tribute to Patti… absolutely heart-wrenching lyrics, with perfect pacing through and through… you’ll find yourself listening to this one over & over again!

Of the ten songs Deb offers up for your jazz enjoyment, it was easy to choose Monk’s “Pannonica” as my personal favorite… her performance is elegant and full of life… just superb.

I give Deb and her players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.98 for this stellar release.  Get more information on Deb’s website.          Rotcod Zzaj
