Powerfully passionate soul music Brian Cooney – NOTHING GREATER: Most folks who read my reviews don’t know that during the mid-’60’s I was part of a gospel quartet from a small Christian school in Eastern Kentucky… one of the skills we developed early-on during the singing tours we made through the Southeastern states was the ability to detect those singers who weren’t “real”… those who were only mouthing the words… I can tell you right now, folks, vocalist and keyboardist Brian is among those whose powerfully passionate soul music is genuine.
This is a special edition of his “Nothing Greater” single (which you can listen to by clicking on the single title here), releasing from Bongo Boy Records on 19 January, 2021… his voice is strong, yet filled with the compassion of hope for the future, and the lyric conveys a sense of hope through higher power that we all need in these troubled times!
Be sure you listen to the song with your headphones on, so you can catch every little nuance of his words, as well as the masterfully woven backing vocals. I’ll tell you right now, this is among the most soulful and powerful singles I’ve listened to (yet) in 2021.
