Melodic meditative heartfelt piano Gary Schmidt – Even For A Moment

Melodic meditative heartfelt piano Gary Schmidt – EVEN FOR A MOMENT:  Gary’s wonderful piano work is truly heartfelt – and I know, because I play a bit of piano myself – and full of calm… you won’t find any samples for this one, because it doesn’t release until my born day – 21 September, 2018 (I’ll come back and add them in when I’m told the album has gone hot)… I can tell you, though, that his spirit shines right through his fingers on this wonderful release… that’s especially true on pieces like the 4:14 “The Breath At Dawn”, which clearly evokes ancient memories for me… Gary’s keyboard style gently rolls in, under and through the sweet strain of ethereal flute on this composition, and is a perfect piece for meditative moments… in fact, I can easily see this piece being nominated for awards – and WINNING them!

Gary is accompanied on several of the all-original pieces by players who fully understand his wizardry… Roger Schmidt on acoustic guitar, Sherry Finzer on flutes and Hannah Alkire doing cello all compliment Gary’s sonic realizations with their high-talent energies… Roger’s guitar on “Sub Tide” rides the subtle undercurrents of Gary’s keyboard as though surfing the galaxies… simple, yet full of the beauty of musicians who understand each other at the soul level.

One of the prettiest pieces of piano I’ve listened to (yet) in 2018 is “No Better Gift”… a deeply moving creation that has Gary’s spirit as the guide for its’ wonderful movements… the flute and cello on this piece help to render an absolutely stunning performance that I find myself coming back to again and again!

Gary says that his creations “begin with a kind of meditative process at the keyboard where he simply listens from the heart, while not necessarily trying to create something.“… his approach works especially well on compositions like my favorite of the fourteen he offers up for your aural enjoyment… “Inside This River” has wonderful movements (and time shifts) from the opening note and to the very end of the 5:22 piece… you can actually “see” the curves and bends if you listen to this piece with your headphones on; I just LOVED this tune.

I give Gary and his players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) rating of 4.99 for this most enjoyable musical adventure.  Get more information on Gary’s website.                Rotcod Zzaj
