Intimate daring piano dreams Joseph Akins – Dream World

Intimate daring piano dreams Joseph Akins – DREAM WORLD:  It’s been quite a while since I had the privilege of meeting pianist Joseph Akins at Rhonda Mackert’s house concerts… to get an close-up look at his fluid and inspiring piano style, I recommend that you watch Joseph’s performance of the title track, “Dream World”…

You’ll find many more intriguing videos when you SUBSCRIBE to the Joseph Akins YouTube channel (which I did right after watching the video above)…

Dream World is Joseph’s ninth solo piano album, and the songs he presents for us reflect a wide range of emotions we have all felt in our dreams… I was particularly impressed with the 4:00 “Whispers in the Woods“… I took many long walks through the forests of Pennsylvania with my grandfather before leaving home, and this tune could easily serve as the background for the visions I often have of those treks… I have no doubt that this song will be recommended for (and WIN) an award!

Joseph’s pacing and use of his full keyboard range makes him truly stand out from other solo pianists… the brilliant imagery he paints for you on “Exhilaration” will bring the bliss that’s in your heart out and lighten your step in all ways… if you listen closely (I recommend you do it with your headphones on), you’ll hear the celestial overtones calling out for your attention, too.

The lower registers on the introduction to Joseph’s “Peacefulness” bring rich and deep tonal influences into your mind as you listen to the song… I predict that DJ’s of all stripes will be adding this to their playlists for frequent rotations… even the silent spaces are filled with passion on this beautiful performance!

Now I’m on my third listen through the ten tantalizing songs Joseph has offered up to enhance our dream-states, and realize that the care and tenderness that Joseph offers up for us on the contemplative “Starlight” is my choice for personal favorite… his consummate keyboard mastery just shines through on this magical tune, and will make you an instant fan of his work.

I give Joseph a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating for one of the most attractive solo piano albums I’ve heard (yet) in 2021… he also gets a (perfect) “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 5.00 – which means that he also gets a “PICK” from me for “best meditative and contemplative solo piano”.  Get more information on Joseph’s website… you can also pre-order the album there.    You’ll also find the album on Joseph’s BandCamp site.                         Rotcod Zzaj
