Highly impressive jazz bass debut Matthew Snow

Highly impressive jazz bass debut Matthew Snow – IRIDESCENCE:  The definition for the album title is “a lustrous rainbow-like play of color“, and that’s exactly what bassist Matthew Snow offers up on his highly impressive jazz bass debut CD (releasing towards the end of November, 2019 – so you won’t see sample links yet; I’ll come back and add them in as soon as I’m told they’re live).  No LIVE videos of the upcoming release are available yet, either, but you’ll find performances like this on YouTube (different performers than are on the album)…

…be sure to SUBSCRIBE to the mattsnowmusic channel on YouTube, too, since you’re there already.

In addition to Matthew’s splendid bass and original compositions, you’ll also hear David Gibson – Trombone; Clay Lyons – Alto Saxophone; Joe Doubleday – Vibraphone; Daisuke Abe – Guitar and Wayne Smith – Drums on the upcoming release… when you listen to solid (& mellow) tunes like “The Exit Strategy”, you’ll realize that you’re going to be hearing a lot more from this high-talent bassist!

The 5:01 “Blitz” really MOVES, folks… the players make every note count, and they’ll have you tappin’ your toes… I particularly enjoyed Joe’s vibraphone in conjunction with Matthew’s driving bass line on this tune… I expect this tune will garner a whole LOT of airplay on jazz stations ’round the globe.

It was the 6:25 closer, “Venus”, that won my vote for personal favorite of the eight Matthew offers up for your jazz pleasure… it’s one of the most mellow jazz performances I’ve listened to (yet) in 2019!

I give Matthew and his fellow players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99.  Get more information on Matthew’s FaceBook page.           Rotcod Zzaj
