Fully focused jazz Brian Woodruff Sextet – A Centering Peace

Fully focused jazz Brian Woodruff Sextet – A CENTERING PEACE:  This is the first time I’ve listened to the fully focused jazz that drummer Brian Woodruff creates for listeners ’round the globe… though I didn’t find LIVE performances of the current release, you’ll find some of his performances when you SUBSCRIBE to Brian’s YouTube channel.

The players are Michael Rodriguez, trumpet; Lisa Parrott, alto and soprano saxophone; Alan Ferber, trombone; Pete McCann, guitar; Matt Clohesy, bass; Brian Woodruff, drums and Elisabeth Lohninger, guest vocalist… their energy levels are full-tilt, especially on tunes like “War Paint” (no samples yet, as the album doesn’t get officially released until 25 June, 2021)… Pete’s guitar and Michael’s trumpet on this tune will be convincing DJ’s around the globe to add this great song to their playlists frequently!

You will definitely “feel the pull” as you enjoy the 5:57 “Undertow”… some great solos, especially from Pete on guitar… a very strong jazz performance that will have you hitting “replay” often.

I absolutely loved Matt’s bass intro to the title track, “A Centering Peace”, and Elisabeth’s vocal reveals lyrics that dig down deep into the soul… I (most strongly) recommend that you listen to this song with your headphones on!

The pace is packed with power on “Freeway Doctor East”… this tune will have you tappin’ toes & poppin’ fingers right along with the scintillating rhythm… it was easy to choose this song as my personal favorite of the nine Brian offers up for our jazz journey.

I give Brian and his players a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.98 for this high-talent session.  Get more information as it becomes available on Brian’s website.                               Rotcod Zzaj
