Fabulously creative fusion jazz Steve Hunt – Connections

Fabulously creative fusion jazz Steve Hunt – CONNECTIONS:  I listen to well over 100 keyboardists in a year, but I haven’t heard one yet in 2021 that produces such fabulously creative fusion jazz as Steve and his bandmates do on this January, 2021 release.  Here’s a promo trailer that will get you as excited as I was when I first listened to it…

The player list is far too long to itemize here, so scroll down on the video page to see the amazing lineup of players Steve has with him… I (most STRONGLY) recommend that you SUBSCRIBE to Steve’s YouTube channel – I did it immediately.

If “down, funky & danceable” is something your ears are yearning for, you’ll fall in love with the beautifully flowing “Carry On” immediately… I found the integration of stellar vocals in, ’round & through the strings to be most inspiring.  I predict that DJ’s across the globe will be adding this tune to their playlists for constant rotation!

The opener, “Now’s The Time“, has a sort of “island vibe” goin’ on during the introduction, and Steve’s silken keyboard helps to escalate the pace as the progression moves forward… for some reason, I can’t help thinking “Herbie” (as in Hancock) as I listen to this dynamite tune… the “change” at the 3:47 mark provides a nice interlude, but the instruments resume to take you to the very outer edges of the galaxy.

I had no difficulty in making my choice for personal favorite of the nine (long) enchanting performances… the 6:11 “Quantum Entanglement” is the most refreshing fusion I’ve heard (yet) in 2021 – full of life and a zest for living it!  It was this tune that made me choose to add it (permanently) to my iPhone (only the VERY best jazz gets on there).

I give Steve and all his players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99… get more information on Steve’s website as it becomes available.                         Rotcod Zzaj
