Exciting challenging listening Jeff Pearring Trio

Exciting challenging listening Jeff Pearring Trio – NOTHING BUT TIME:  The opener, “Plugin Heavy” (samples not up yet, as the album doesn’t release until October, 2019) just ROCKS & ROLLS you into some of the best jazz you will listen to in 2019… featuring Jeff’s ultra-cool alto sax, Adam Lane’s acoustic/electric bass and drums from Tim Ford, this will catapult you straight to the outer edges of the galaxy… LOVED this tune!

One thing I didn’t see is a YouTube channel for Jeff’s music… my suggestion is that they add a channel before the release (if that’s done & I’m notified of it, I will come back and add it in after the fact).  I’ll tell you right now, though, this is an album that you will WANT in your collection, especially as you listen to tunes like “Talking Outside Time”… the piece starts off in “exploratory” mode (as in a time warp, maybe?), & doesn’t move into the higher pace until around the 3:50 mark… listeners who love improvised chaos will find this one very rewarding.

Lots of variety for the styles, too… “Effective Translation” starts off with a funky/groove kinda’ thing, but the trio totally “owns” the piece & makes it very rewarding for the listener… accessible, but different!

Of the dozen sonic experiences offered up, I found my personal favorite to be the oddly titled “The March of the Aggressive Pedestrian”… it’s definitely in “march” tempo, & Jeff’s reeds just WAIL through the 4:21 length… you’ll never walk the streets again without a touch of fear in your heart, lol.

I give Jeff & his amazing trio a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.98 for this fine album… get more information at the Pearring Sound FB page.              Rotcod Zzaj
