Ecstatic authentic jazz vocals Diane Hoffman – Do I Love You

Ecstatic authentic jazz vocals Diane Hoffman – DO I LOVE YOU:  If your ears are looking for jazz vocals that are authentic and bubbling over with the energy of life – Diane has exactly what you need on her October 9, 2018, release… in fact, I’ll go as far as to say that you’ll find few jazz vocalists on the scene today with her dynamic vocal ability… songs like the upbeat “I’m Gonna’ Go Fishin’” will make you an instant believer!

It doesn’t hurt that she has some of the best players on the jazz scene today supporting her vivacious stylings… Billy Test, piano; Jacob Kelberman, guitar; Yasushi Nakamura, bass; Yoshi Waki, bass; Ulysses Owens Jr., drums/producer; Daniel Dickinson, tenor sax; Vitaly Golavnev, trumpet; Eric Miller, trombone and Joseph Doubleday, vibraphone… she can belt out soulful blues with the best of them, and on “Mad About The Boy“, she will totally blow your mind, folks… this is one of the best blues performances I’ve heard (yet) in 2018!

There’s a tendency on the part of some reviewers to “write off” music like this as “lounge lizardly”, & in some cases that’s justified, but when a singer knows how to “sing their heart” (like Diane does), that’s more than unfair… the song that I chose as my personal favorite of the fourteen offered up proves beyond the shadow of a doubt that Ms. Hoffman “has it” in a big way… her performance on the upbeat & lively “Devil May Care” will have you snappin’ your fingers & toes as you dance ’round the room… if any song should be considered for a vocal jazz award – this is IT, people!

I give Diane and her splendid crew of players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) rating of 4.99… be sure you check her out, & get more information on Diane’s website.            Rotcod Zzaj
