Delightfully intimate solo piano Derek Wille – An Approaching Storm

Delightfully intimate solo piano Derek Wille – AN APPROACHING STORM:  Those of us who breathe music in daily like the air around us know how difficult the last year or so has been, and on his debut release, pianist Derek felt much the same – in his own words – “I have been feeling remote and disconnected. The pandemic. Middle age. Life in general. Inspired by hope, this collection of music is my intention for the future“… he’s offered up a delightfully intimate solo piano experience that you will be able to enjoy for years to come.  Watch this video from an earlier album to get an up-close experience of his beautiful playing…

You’ll find many other intriguing videos when you SUBSCRIBE to Derek’s YouTube channel, too.

Derek projects a spirit of brilliant hope on “Still Friends“; his “pacing” is pure perfection on this performance… I predict that DJ’s of all types will be plugging this excellent solo piano piece into their playlists often!

The lower registers on Derek’s keyboard are most soothing on the beautiful “Green In Blue“… as the tune progresses, he also uses the “bright notes” to emphasize the contrasts… if you love solo piano with a calm passion, you will absolutely love this song.

I found the title track, “An Approaching Storm“, totally engaging… the imagery Derek creates is powerful and pertinent in today’s uncertain world… I have no doubt that this composition will be considered for (and WIN) an award!

The 3:55 “Cindy K” is a piece full of tasteful energy and flowing notes that bring the beauty of friendship home for all of us… I was especially impressed with Derek’s use of the upper range of his keyboard on this joyous song.

You’ll hear heartwarming accord as you listen to “Song For Linie“; this is another composition that certainly merits consideration for an award… Derek’s ability to touch your soul with his playing will reach you right away!

I give Derek a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.98.  Get more information on Derek’s website as it becomes available.  Rotcod Zzaj
