deliciously dynamic jazz debut Alex McLaughlin – A Brand New State

deliciously dynamic jazz debut Alex McLaughlin – A BRAND NEW STATE:  bassist, composer, and educator Alex will introduce you to some of the most deliciously dynamic jazz you’ve ever listened to on his debut recording, which released on 17 January, 2025… to get more familiar with his superb talent, watch the following video first…

This EPK is the only video on Alex’s YouTube page, but I (most strongly) recommend that you SUBSCRIBE to his Alex McLaughlin page, as I predict he will be creating a LOT more content for you (and your ears) in the coming months and years.

You’ll also hear the fantastic talents of Jeremy Siskind (piano), Jeremy Pelt (trumpet), and Ulysses Owens Jr. (producer)… one of the most exciting tunes is the 6:24 “Trailhead“, which takes you on a journey through both rocky back-roads and beautiful vistas you will never forget!

My choice for personal favorite of the eight excellent originals was an easy decision… “Elevation” closes the album with a flourish of jazz energy that you will seldom hear…. a totally impressive jazz journey.

I give Alex and his playmates a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with a perfect “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 5.00… which means, of course, that it also gets a “PICK” for “best jazz debut album”.  Get more information at Alex’s website, or listen to all the tasty tunes on his SPOTIFY page (below)…
