Deeply dramatic piano works Matias Baconsky – When The World Ends

Deeply dramatic piano works Matias Baconsky – WHEN THE WORLD ENDS:  Matias’s dynamic keyboard style is already quite familiar to me, as I reviewed his “Life and Death” album earlier this year, where he got high marks… his sophomore release is even stronger… he is especially adept at pulling marvelous overtones from the keyboard, as you’ll hear on sonic wonders like the 4:18 “Sky Is Falling“… deep and rich tones that will reach down deep inside of you, and hold you spellbound.

Matias posts videos to YouTube as well… watch and listen closely to hear the full power he’s capable of projecting on “Afterlife”…

…be sure to SUBSCRIBE to his YouTube channel while you’re there… I wouldn’t be surprised if you begin to see more “live” videos showing up on his channel, too.

Per the notes on his Bandcamp page, this new album is “the story of a man living at the end of the world surrounded by his loved ones. As they share their beautiful memories, they hope to find themselves and each other in another life“… one of the songs that most strongly stirred my own feelings is “Memories“… as the title implies, even the pain of living must be shared in order to proceed to the next level, and Matias brings those feelings out for the listener… simply constructed, but full of beauty!

It is the deep tones on the lower registers that made “The Final Page“, the 6:14 closing performance on the dozen-song album, that made it my personal favorite… part of the attraction (I believe) with Matias’s playing is the strength and purpose of his left-hand, and I can say (from personal playing experience) that this song will be the envy of many aspiring players out there in listener land.

I give Matias a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, as well as an “EQ” (energy quotient) rating of 4.99 for this highly enchanting aural adventure.  Get more information about the album at Matias’s Bandcamp page.          Rotcod Zzaj
