Ancient medieval sounds given rebirth Apsara – GALATEA:  If you’re like me, you are constantly in search of sonic wonderment, and Apsara (classical soprano Michaele Archer) certainly provides that with the ancient medieval sounds she’s given rebirth to on her August, 2019, EP (Extended Play) release.  I’ve traveled the globe to find music as diverse as Tuva throat-singing, jazz that takes you to the outer edge and other exciting styles that are ultimately “different“… to get the full impact of Apsara’s unique performance skills, watch her “Tandem venit amor” (At Last It’s Come – Love) video from the EP…

…be sure to put the video on “loop“, as you’ll want to listen through this one over and over again… be sure to SUBSCRIBE to the Marshfog channel, as well, where you’ll find other unique performers & artists.

Apsara’s harmonium intro to the 4:30 opener, “Ama me fideliter (Love Me Faithfully)“, and the vocals are absolute wizardry… in addition to Michaele’s wonderful vocals and harmonium, you’ll also hear from Rachel Whealy on Cello; Gabrielle Laura Steele doing Viola and guitar by Guiseppe Zangari… in fact, Michaele and Rachel have been playing together since high school, so they are totally in tune with each other (on all levels), and it really comes clear on this performance!

Of the five magical songs offered up for your aural enjoyment on the EP, it is the title track, “Galatea“, that (immediately) earned my vote for personal favorite… Apsara’s vocal just SHIMMERS on this amazing performance… there are multiple layers of singing, so I’d (most strongly) recommend that you listen to this entire EP with headphones on – at least for the first sitting – so you can catch every enchanting nuance.

I give Apsara and her players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of a (perfect) 5.00… what that means is that she also gets a “PICK” from me for “most exciting EP”.  Get more information on the Foghorn news and media page for her release.                 Rotcod Zzaj
