Soul Messengers Australian revivalist soul and blues Soul Messengers – Vision & Tears

Soul Messengers Australian revivalist soul and blues Soul Messengers – VISION & TEARS:  A fine mix of various musical styles from this Australian band, comprised of Richard Aljinovic: Vocals and Guitar; Simon Morel: Guitar; Dave Kirby: Drums and Percussion and Hadi Ansell: Bass… as you listen to the (very) soulful “Don’t let them tell you“, you’ll feel like you’re right back at the height of mid-to-late ’70’s, when soul music was at the very top of the charts… this took me back oh-so-many years, when music was full of spirit and the giving of love!  To check that out “in action”, so to speak, check out their “teaser” video on YouTube…

It’s marked “explicit” for a reason, as you’ll hear when you scope out “I’m your dog“… of course, those of us who grew up in the ’60’s & ’70’s won’t find it all that offensive; in fact, the rockin’ keyboard & guitar will have you remembering some quite similar scenes as what they’re singing about here, I’d imagine… of course, I probably wouldn’t spin this one for my (God rest her soul) grandma, lol.

Since I was a fan of B.B. King & all those blues giants back in the day, it was easy to pick “Need Your Love So Bad” as my personal favorite of the eight great performances they’ve offered up for your enjoyment (having been a keyboard player myself, I very quickly fell in love with the organ on this one). It’s a temptation to compare this band with Paul Butterfield – but they’ve got their own style and high-energy vibe that’s rooted firmly in the 21st Century!

It’s also easy to declare their work as MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, and give them an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.98.  You can get more information about them on the Soul Messengers website.           Rotcod Zzaj
