Ryan Slatko highly charged original jazz works Ryan Slatko – First Impressions

Ryan Slatko highly charged original jazz works Ryan Slatko – FIRST IMPRESSIONS:  Ryan’s highly-charged debut album features him doing some of the most exciting jazz piano I’ve heard (yet) in 2018… he’s joined by players that know exactly what he wants to achieve… Daniel Dickinson (alto/soprano saxophone); Linda Oh (acoustic bass); Ulysses Owens, Jr. (drums); Joel Ross (vibraphone); and Samir Zarif (tenor saxophone) all work together with him to create an impression that lasts!  Tunes like “Prospect of Love” will make you a committed believer…over 9 minutes long, the tune gives each player a chance to show their talent & they SHINE at it…

…though I don’t usually add in videos that aren’t live, I did this time so you can get to his YouTube channel and subscribe… (I’m hoping, of course, that Ryan will add in a live video from this album as well – he had some there from earlier work)!

There’s over an hour’s worth of music on this release, and tunes like “Evidence” will make you realize that Ryan is a jazz cat to keep your ears on… this is award-winning jazz, & I predict that he will be blowing your mind for years to come!

There was absolutely no doubt in my mind that “Green Ceiling“, the stunning and full-tilt opener, would be my choice for personal favorite… this will get your blood (& your soul, for that matter) MOVING!

I give Ryan and his bandmates a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) rating of 4.99 for this superbly performed debut album.  Get more information on Ryan’s music page.           Rotcod Zzaj
