Since I’m always up for great jazz that features spoken-word, I was immediately drawn to the strong opener, “Cancion De La Verdad Sencilla” (based on a book of poetry by Puerto Rican poet Julia de Burgos)… again, I’m using the video, until the audio samples are available… including both Spanish and English on the spoken-word portions (Rossana Rodriguez and Claritza Maldonado) was a stroke of genius…
There’s no doubt in my mind that you will just HAVE to have this fantastic CD in your collection, especially after you listen to my personal favorite piece of the eight long songs offered up for your jazz enjoyment… “Ky Ky” will have you up & dancing ’round the room after the first four bars… over an hour’s worth of super-solid jazz work; this FINE album gets a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED from me, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) rating of 4.99.
