Michele McLaughlin brilliant holiday solo piano Michele McLaughlin – Christmas Plain & Simple III

Michele McLaughlin brilliant holiday solo piano Michele McLaughlin – CHRISTMAS PLAIN & SIMPLE III:  Michele has been playing solo piano for many years now, and this is her third release of holiday songs… she released the first album ten years ago, and I wanted you to see what she was doing on that first ’round…

…wasn’t that beautiful?  In fact, if solo piano is your preference, you’ll want to be sure to SUBSCRIBE to her YouTube channel, where you’ll find her playing in various settings and styles… that’s the key thing about Michele’s work – she is truly versatile, and a creator of the highest caliber!

The 2017 release features a dozen songs bound to inspire you to find all the joys of the coming season… of particular note (for me) is her rendition of “Sing We Now of Christmas“… as with many of the pieces, this one is short (2:41), but Michele uses her magical “pacing” to make the classic come to life and keep the melody in your mind for the longest of terms.

The joy she projects as she plays “The Holly and The Ivy” will bring crystal-clear visions of old homesteads decked out in all their finery, brilliant strings of lights, glowing candles and all the little nuances that made those holidays so special for us all.

O Come All Ye Faithful” was a mainstay in our holiday songbook, and Michele’s playing style on this one will become an “instant favorite” for you, I’ve no doubt… I just love the way her left-hand coaxes such strong overtones out of the lower registers on this piece.

The choice of a personal favorite was an absolutely easy decision to make… the closing track, “Peace“, is not only beautifully played, it’s also expressive of a fervent desire that all our coming holiday seasons shine with the light of peacefulness… again, it is Michelle’s marvelous ability to “pace” the playing of the song that makes it so listenable and enjoyable… I just loved this one!

I give Michelle a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) rating of 4.99 for this excellent solo piano set.  Get more information at the Michele McLaughlin page for the album.         Rotcod Zzaj
