Michael Hurdle & Paul Anderson magical guitar Scottish fiddle Michael Hurdle & Paul Anderson – Highlands & Houston

Michael Hurdle & Paul Anderson magical guitar Scottish fiddle Michael Hurdle & Paul Anderson – HIGHLANDS & HOUSTON:  There’s one word that best describes the great music that Michael and Paul have put together here for your aural enjoyment – “rousing”!  If “Gypsy Joe” doesn’t get your blood moving – nothing will! The duo plays in a style uniquely their own, full of the love and life and a penchant for living it well!

They are joined by an excellent cast of players, far too long to itemize here, so check out their EPK to see the folks who helped create their excellent sound!  I also found a video of a truly laid-back piece of beauty – “A Fond Memory” – that I think shows just how well they work together…

…the keyboard/organ woven into that track is supremely calming, too!  Speaking of calming… “A Simple Tune” is just that… simple, but full of love… the organ gives it a truly “churchy” feel that brought back many memories for me, too.

I was also happy to see that they released this on their own, in the strongest traditions of D.I.Y. (do it yourself) that we have always supported here… it wasn’t difficult (at all) to know which tune would be getting my pick for personal favorite, either… the overtones & echoes on “Window In The Clouds” was one of those “instant hits” for my ears… it’s not just because the song is in the “mellow zone”, it has some of the most seamless changes I’ve heard (yet) in 2017… that takes genuine talent, to be sure.  I give Michael, Paul & all their players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.98.  Get more information at Michael’s website.        Rotcod Zzaj
