* krisrussell single jazz vocal * Kris Russell – DOWN IN BRAZIL: Believe it or not, writing a review of a “single” is much more difficult than a full-album release… for one thing, you don’t have any comparisons that can be made… this is Kris’s latest release, though she has released a few other singles along the way as well. My critique? For the next release, it would be really nice to hear a full 40 (or more) minute release!
With all that out of the way, it’s time to let you all know that Kris DOES have it together… the best way to convey my enjoyment of this track is to check out my VIDEO CRITIQUE for her YouTube video for the project.
It’s clear that she sings with style and a passion for the music… “Down In Brazil” may be only a single, but it’s got a lot going for it. I predict you will be hearing this a LOT on jazz stations around the country, soon. I give Kris a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) rating of 4.96 (the ratings would be much higher if this were a full-CD release). Get more information on the Kris Russell website.
