Greta Matassa with John Stowell & Clipper Anderson at Traditions Fair Trade Cafe – Live Show Review

Greta Matassa with John Stowell & Clipper Anderson at Traditions Fair Trade Cafe

Greta Matassa with John Stowell & Clipper Anderson at Traditions Fair Trade Cafe – LIVE SHOW REVIEW:  I recently did a review of master guitarist John Stowell’s “Night Visitor” album, and when he read it, he was kind enough to invite me to his gig with Greta and Clipper at one of our favorite venues in town, Traditions Fair Trade Cafe… I had planned on being there for their opening salvo, but another personal commitment delayed me until the last couple of songs in their first set… as you’ll see in the video below, though, their energy together is absolutely ON, late or early…

…packed house, as i expected, but I was still able to find a seat (thank Gourd, lol – my knees ain’t what they used to be)… good acoustics, and a very appreciative audience made the show an “instant hit” for me.

I’ve been following John’s work ever since his album from 1977, “Golden Delicious“, and have had occasion to watch him live a couple of times in Olympia… as you’ll see/hear in the videos below, his “touch” on the guitar is magical, and together with Greta and Clipper, they are true masters of their craft…

I think you’ll agree – that’s SPECIAL, all the way around… super performances, and they seem so comfortable together!

During our short conversation, John told me that he will be back in our Magickland of Olywa in early fall… I’m planning on being there, and if you love masterful jazz, you’ll want to be there as well… thanks for the invite, John – I surely enjoyed the show!
