Bewitching haunting dreamscaped soulful tales Vince Bell – OJO:  Before I carry on with my review of Vince’s superb April, 2018 release, I (most strongly) suggest you watch this 2010 interview… it will give you some true insight into an artist that definitely deserves to be heard (and watched) more…

…truth be told, this is my first listen to his prolific and talented poetry and music, but since I’m a big fan of well-crafted spoken word, it certainly won’t be my last… be sure to join Vince’s YouTube channel, too.  He’s definitely an artist to keep your ears & eyes on.

One of the most impressive spoken-word creations I’ve heard in recent years is the fantastic opener, “A Little Poetry“… lines like “do you believe what you dream?  If you don’t have dreams, then you’ll never have to worry about them coming true” truly tell the story, though of course, you have to listen to the whole song to really dig what Vince is saying… the tune is only 1:53, but you’ll keep comin’ back to it – in fact, I really recommend that you do your first sitting with your headphones on!

The sounds down, under & through “The Snake” will give you visions – apple trees at first, but when Vince “kills” the snake, you’re in for a surprise… ultimately a very cool piece of art.

It was actually quite easy to choose my personal favorite from the eleven most interesting performances Vince creates here… the 4:19 closer, “Nothing At All“,  is just wonderful… beautiful intro that leads right into lines like “reality is smaller than a rumor“, or “the hardest thing to do – is nothin’ at all“… the recording on this piece, as well as the percussion, is intricate and full of life.

I give Vince a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) rating of 4.99 for this highly eclectic album.  Get more information about this fascinating artist on Vince’s website.      Rotcod Zzaj
