Amazing duo layered orchestral magic Daniel Bennett Group – We Are The Orchestra

Amazing duo layered orchestral magic Daniel Bennett Group – WE ARE THE ORCHESTRA:  Before I start with the review, I would (most STRONGLY) recommend that you become more familiar with the artists by watching the video created as the promo…

…be SURE you SUBSCRIBE to their YouTube channel, since you’re there already… you’ll find lots more interesting and exciting music in many different styles.

The thing I found so enchanting (and entertaining) about the music Daniel & his musical cohort, guitarist Mark Cocheo, created on this release is that the musical styles vary all the way from jazz to folk, as well as classical – and they do it with what I would describe as “pure joy”… just listen to the opener, “Loose Fitting Spare Tire“, and you’ll hear why I so much enjoyed their high-energy playing.

It’s hard to believe that a duo is playing this… Mark Cocheo and Daniel recorded ALL of the wind, string and percussion instruments to create the sound of a large ensemble, as you’ll hear on the highly entertaining 4:48 “Gold Star Mufflers“… the banjo on this one is woven skillfully into string sounds, and adds an element of humor that more bands need to express… a most interesting performance!

I’m not exactly sure what their process is for choosing tune titles, but I always love odd names for songs, and “Refinancing for Elephants” is right up at the top of my list for favorite song names; simple, but solid composition.

Of the eight songs offered up for our aural enjoyment, it is (hands-down) the 3:56 closer, “Carl Finds His Way“, that is my personal favorite… Daniel and Mark convey a sense of abandon on this tune that I really enjoy… much fun!

I give Daniel and Mark a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, with an “EQ” (energy quotient) rating of 4.98 for this most enjoyable listening experience.  Get more information on Daniel’s website.        Rotcod Zzaj
